A Modular Partnership

In 2010, Blazer was invited to participate in a symposium to discuss modular design for schools. This led to a partnership with Portland State University, and others to design an alternative to the standard portable classroom. Amongst other things, features of the design included additional windows, increased ceiling height, better HVAC system, natural daylighting, ceiling fans and a more visually pleasing design. This design was named SAGE which stands for Smart Academic Green Environment.
In 2012, we partnered with Pacific Mobile to build the first SAGE prototype and showcased the project at the 2012 Greenbuild show in San Francisco to rave reviews. Since that time, we have built over 90 SAGE classrooms and several SAGE style restroom buildings for schools throughout Oregon and Washington. The SAGE design has been a great alternative to the standard classroom, and one that students, teachers, parents and community members have been happy to add to their schools. We continue to work on designs with PSU and Pacific Mobile to expand the SAGE product so schools have additional options.

We are proud to partner with Portland State University and Pacific Mobile on these projects!
